Mayfield Park Bowling Club Is a friendly and welcoming lawn bowls club located in Southampton. Established in 1959, it has a rich tradition of promoting lawn bowls, a sport known for its strategic play, precision, and social interaction.
The club offers a warm and inclusive environment for players of all ages and skill levels, making it an ideal place for both beginners looking to learn the game and experienced players wanting to participate in competitive matches.
Our club is situated within the scenic Mayfield Park on the outskirts of Southampton, which provides a beautiful backdrop for bowlers to enjoy their games.
Our past partnership with the Southampton City Council has been instrumental in fostering a welcoming environment for both seasoned bowlers, newcomers and visiting club teams. For over six decades, our collaboration with the city council has enabled us to provide accessible sporting opportunities to the public. A key aspect of this partnership is our commitment to making two of our rinks available for the general public to use. Southampton City Council have now withdrawn that support for 2025. However, we will continue our commitment the make up to 2 rinks available for public use, subject to availability between 10:30 and 16:30.

For members, the remaining rinks offer an excellent venue for practice sessions (Rollups), friendly matches, and formal club competitions. Mayfield Park Bowling Club is committed to fostering a sense of community, both within its membership and in its interactions with the public.
We regularly organizes social events, fun days, internal tournaments, and inter-club competitions and friendly matches, encouraging camaraderie and providing plenty of opportunities for members to engage with one another and improve their skills. As a club with a long history, Mayfield Park Bowling Club proudly upholds the traditions of the sport while also embracing modern approaches to ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
The club has a dedicated team of volunteers who help maintain the quality of the facilities and organize events, ensuring the continued success of the club.

Our bowling season is open from mid April to mid September, Monday – Sunday 10:30 – 16:30 for public use members can bowl outside of these hours.
We always welcome new members to the club whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, so why not come and visit the club and see what we have to offer. During the winter months we run an indoor short mat bowling programme at the nearby Chamberlayne Leisure Centre, on a Wednesday afternoon. You’re welcome to join us for a fun afternoon and to keep your hand in while we await the summer season. Contact us for details.
